Hi Everyone,

Yes, it is finally official! We are one of the first recognized educational chapter of AHDI!

We have held our 1st board meeting and I have attached a copy of the meeting minutes. Meeting minutes are pending Board approval. In the meeting we set our 2008 AHDI Mission Possible goals and the committees we would like to have for our chapter!

The M-TEC chapter will focus on two Mission Possible goals with a committee set up for each

·         Initiative #4- Coordinate a local effort to advocate for and promote mandatory credentialing in your state.

·         Initiative #5- Promote certification through a full-fledged CMT/RMT Study Group hosted by your component.

The M-TEC chapter will start with the following committees

·         Newsletter

~Mentors- Patty Seitz and Sue Dickinson (will be distributed monthly)

·         Membership Committee

·         Fundraising Committee

·         Nominating

·         Bylaws

~Mentors- Chad Sines and Patty Seitz

~We have one year to submit bylaws

·         Awards and Recognition

·         Mission Possible Committees

~MP #4- Mandatory Credentialing

~MP #5- Promote certification

Lisa Woodley will be our CERT Connector! Thank you Lisa!!

Thank you everyone for your patience while we were awaiting our recognition!

Angela

Edit: Changed 1st to one of the first. Sorry, we were not the 1st educational chapter.

I just read the meeting minutes. Near the end it states:

We will solicit student help and allow students to volunteer on one committee. This will allow all students to be involved!

I'm not sure if there is a formal plan for how to solicit student help, so forgive me if I'm out of line, but I would like to go ahead and offer to serve on the "Mission Possible" Committee for MP #5 - Promote certification. Maybe others would like to join in and choose a committee to keep the ball rolling!
