Hi,

I'm Marg from Columbia, Maryland. I've been with M-TEC for about 17 1/2 months now, and just sent in my Pre-Employment Test. Should be 7-10 days to get that back, and hopefully, then I graduate. I am really excited. I have learned a lot these past almost 18 months.

I am the mother of 3, grandmother of 4, and am retired from govt work. I love medical transcription. It is so challenging and always interesting. Something new to learn all the time, and lots of research to do. And I love computers, too, so that helps a lot. I went to the PA-AHDI conference this fall, and found members there from PA and Virginia and Ohio and New York, but no one else from Maryland. Anyone else out there?

Hi, Marg!

I'm from Frederick, not far from Columbia.  I joined M-Tec in August of this year and beginning Session 5.  I feel like I have a long way to go.  I'm the mother of one 16 year old, grandmother of none and looking forward to my career in med transcription.  There does not seem to be too many from Maryland for some reason.

Let me know how your pre-test goes and your job hunt.  Would love some encouragement about now.

Betty

Hello Ladies!

I am from Maryland. I live in Kensington, about 4 miles away from Rockville.... and about what, 30-45 min away from Frederick. I enrolled in Mtec September of 2007 and after my separating from my ex husband, I had a hard time moving forward. I am finally back and excited about getting this accomplished.

Best to both you!

Antoinette

I can.

Oh, do keep going. It gets much more interesting towards the end. The last session particularly is challenging, but also really fun. Plastic surgery especially was terrific. I always wanted to know how they do those things, and it was fascinating to listen to.

I'm having a tough time waiting for my test to come back. It's been about a week and a half, but only about 7 working days, so it should be any day. My fingers have been crossed so long, I'll probably end up with osteoarthritis!

I've been to Frederick, of course. Used to go to see the Keys play baseball every once in a while.

I think we are very lucky with the economy in the bad shape it is in, that jobs appear to be plentiful. No shortage of work out there. I'm hoping to work from home, part-time, as I am retired. Retirement turns out to be somewhat boring, since my husband still works, so I immediately signed up with M-TEC. And I'm ready to get back to work!! Really ready!

Hope your studies go smoothly, and all turns out well for you.

Marg

Hi, Marg!

Yes, I have thought the same.  How lucky we all are!  During this down time, all of us here at M-Tec are progressing, learning, and moving towards our goal.  It's perfect for me, and I'm very grateful.

I'm sort of in retirement, too, and plan to work part-time or maybe even full-time after I finish.  I'm only in Session 5 but moving on!
