Good morning everyone!

I have received an "invitation" from Microsoft to try out Office 2010 Beta version and see what I think. I am sure lots of us have received this email. So I was wondering what do you think?

I've not tried it yet and am not sure that I am ready for it to be honest. I have Vista/Office 2007. I have a love/hate thing going on with what I currently have, but am not sure that I am ready to see what new problems/quirks the 2010 version would have. The learning curve on 2007 was tough enough!

So has anyone out there "broken the seal" on Office 2010 and fell in love?

Enjoy!

Melissa

Yes I did and yes I have!!!!!!!!

Concentrate on this Sentence
>
> 'To get something you never had, you have to do something
> you never did.'   When God takes something from your grasp,
> He's not punishing you, but merely opening your hands to
> receive something better.  Concentrate on this sentence...
> 'The will of God will never take you where the Grace of God
> will not protect you.'  Something good will happen to you
> today; something that you have been waiting to hear.

Hi Angie!

I have decided to take the plunge and go for it. I love new programs and can't wait to see what it is about. Hopefully I won't cry later over my decision to head over to the dark side!

Enjoy!

Hi!

I just had MS Office 2010 Beta installed this weekend.  I used MS Word last night.  Everything is in different spots (of course). So you have to do a little searching.  I was having trouble getting the font to stay the same but other than that I think that getting used to it should be no problem.  It's neat to have something new to work on. I am sure once I can find everything and fool around with it I will get used to it. But it took me longer to do homework being new to the 2010 edition.  I think I will be happy with it....

Thanks Amy!

That was very helpful to know. Learning a new program is not the least bit intimidating to me (unlike other area's of computers) so I look forward to giving it a try. I am pretty slow with dictation now since I force myself to research everything over and over (hoping it will pay off in the long run and stick in my brain).
Hoping it won't slow me down too much. I am sure this will pay off in the long run as well, right?

Thanks for your input!

Enjoy!

Melissa

Hi Melissa,

I forgot to mention, when I went to save my document there was a big list of different formats to save it in.  I was told to save it in the 2003 format because that way it is still a .doc format.  Any of the newer ones wouldn't be right.  Anyway, that's what I was told by someone who is more computer literate than me.  Hope this makes sense!

Thanks Amy and Angie! Learning a newer program version is fun. Starting session 10 just adds to the pleasure. I decided to use the newer program on my second computer while I finish up session 9. I figure that will give me time/opportunity to play around with it before I begin using it in the next session. Tomorrow I complete session 9 SA, Thursday I submit session 9 test, Friday I complete/submit the HIPAA test and Saturday is wide open for the fun of session 10 to begin! Wish me luck!

I swear some days my poor brain is going to burst from my head with as much as I am trying to force into this thick skull, LOL! Thanks again for your input ladies!

Enjoy!

Melissa
