Exclusively for my fellow Hoosiers,

My hubby sent me this link to the Indiana Department of Workforce Development.  They are offering free online training in over 750 topics.  I registered and now just have to decide what I want to take.  Copy and paste the below to see the complete impressive list of topics available.

http://www.in.gov/dwd/files/eLearning_Course_List.pdf

or you can copy and paste the below to register and have access to the classes.

Thought I would share.  You can't beat free, and the classes are 24/7 at your convenience.

waist deep in session 15

Thanks for that information!  I am an Indiana resident.  I just started a few weeks ago, I am on week 3 (second half of session 2.)  I just turned in my first TG assignment.   I think I'll take the grammar course online.  I could use a little extra help!  I also just requested English Grammar for Dummies from the Library to assist.  Reading the Transcription Tips helps, but sometimes the definition requires knowing what something else is.  For example, one definition told me that it was appropriate to do X after a verb before a participle or something.  If I don't know what a participle is, I am in trouble.  So, I am having to re-learn some grammar I never quite got drilled into my head.

Thanks much for info.  I'll take a minute to go out and look at the classes that the state of Indiana is offering.

I'm new to M-Tec...actually signed on around first of February, but just getting it in gear this week.  I do have to admit that I'm a bit overwhelmed right now.  You know, trying to get the brain back into study mode after 15 years.

Glad to see there are other Hoosiers out there.  Where are you in the state?

I graduated last October, but I live in Indianapolis on the north side.  I hope school is going well for you all!

You're welcome!

Tara, Grammar would be good.  I know it is kind of hard to imagine, but before you know it, you will have the TT memorized, and it will be drilled into your head!

Pam, I know what you mean about getting your brain back into it.  Its been 20 years for me, but I am loving learning all of this!  I live just outside of West Lafayette in the small town of Otterbein.  Where are you?

Hi, Anita!  I remember you.  You were very welcoming to me when I came on board, and I followed your posts.  Feel almost like I know you!  Congrats on graduating and finding a job.  I am FINALLY in Session 16, and school is going great.

Hi Kelly!

Wow, good for you...in Session 16.  (You may be beyond that by now since it has been a few weeks since your post.)

I live in Warsaw which is between South Bend and Ft Wayne.  So, you are close to Purdue; I've heard of Otterbein.

Are you a full-time student or part-time student?  I'm still so new to the program that I feel like I'm in an alien world.   But, with that said I am loving the learning!!
