The voting process is long and dull and everyone is so full of momentum, so...
What are some ideas you have for projects/"things to do" for the M-TEC chapter? What things would you like to work on?
Let's help our incoming leaders have a great head start by providing them with as many ideas as we can (along with volunteers who would be willing to help)

Good grief! Will we EVER know who won the election??? I know, and I agree, it's a long wait... but in the end we will have some great leaders in this awesome new chapter, and brand new era for AHDI with the educational chapters!!!I have an idea... thanks, Chad, for posting this! AHDI has some initiatives that they have asked all components in AHDI to work on during the year. Next year, we are asking all components to choose at least 2 initiatives (more if you would like!) of our "Mission: Possible" campaign to work on and complete during the year. You can find them if you click here. It would be a great idea for each member of the M-TEC Chapter to go through these, download what you need to, study them, and when we have our officers finally elected, we will be that much more ready to.. ROCK 'N ROLL!!! Also, another good thing to do would be to start talking about the committees you would like to see the chapter have. What are your interests? Would you like to be a person involved with members through a Membership committee? Are you someone who likes rules and regulations along with structure and would like to participate in the Bylaws and Policies and Procedures committee? How about Fundraising? I know the M-TEC chapter is going to want to send a representative (usually the President) to ACE this year to take their place among the rest of the leaders... but since you are not charging membership dues to help this out, you will have to depend fully on fundraising efforts. Who is a good salesman? Would you like to be on this committee and help raise money for future efforts that you may want to participate in through this chapter and in the name of this chapter and AHDI? How about Legislation? Does anyone LOVE to keep track of government issues? THIS IS FOR YOU! Lots to do, so let's put our thinking caps on and start discussing both the Mission: Possible initiatives and also the committees. We want to be ready to jump right on track on November 15!!

Some great ideas, Jacque! We might also want to think about doing a newsletter down the road. That would be a great way for the committees to report to the membership, include a message from the President or other officers, post about any local meetings in your area, and so forth. My students receive a newsletter from me every once in a while, so they know that is something I enjoy doing, so give it some thought, and if you think it would be helpful to get information out to everybody, I would be happy to help in any way I can!!
